Ajinomoto to start production of instant noodles in India

Japan-based food Ajinomoto is planning to start production of instant noodles next month in India through its Maruchan Ajinomoto India joint venture with Toyo Suisan Kaisha.

The two companies look forward for a quick market entry with the establishment of Maruchan Ajinomoto India as a joint venture.

As part of the new joint venture, Ajinomoto will be combining marketing and sales capabilities with Toyo Suisan’s strengths in development and production.

The companies plan to introduce their new instant noodle flavours and sell noodles targeted towards young consumers from November.

According to World Instant Noodles Association, the instant noodle market is growing quickly in India, and is expected to continue growing steadily.

As part of its medium-term management plan, the Ajinomoto Group placed instant noodles as one of its core businesses, and is also planning to promote its products in emerging countries and North America.
