Sara Lee to Shut South Carolina Bakery

24 November 2009

Food service company Sara Lee says it is planning to close a bakery plant in Greenville, South Carolina, in January due to the loss of a major customer.

The company's Greenville plant manufactures frozen dough and bagels for the food service industry.

The plant was acquired by the company from King's Hawaiian Bakery in 1984 and its closure could result in 200 staff redundancies.
