2 Sisters Food Group invests in prepared meals facility in South Wales, UK

UK-based 2 Sisters Food Group has enhanced the production capabilities of its prepared meals facility in South Wales by introducing new technology and innovation with a £10m investment.

The facility in Rogerstone will now feature a dedicated Oriental foods ‘pod’ and would strengthen the business’ Meal Solutions division.

2 Sisters Food Group meal solutions managing director Simon Wookey said: “The significant investment in Rogerstone will lay the foundations for the future and acknowledges the loyalty and capability of our colleagues in South Wales.

“We are investing millions in our factories and embedding a cross-functional lean culture to deliver a gold standard performance."

“The new extension has been great news for the site on many levels, and this will allow us to build on our recipe for success.”

The Rogerstone site is also equipped with automated coating line and latest cooling technology to offer a wide range of meal options with improved consistency and better quality.

The new in-line cooling system has also reduced the site's environmental footprint.

2 Sisters Food Group Rogerstone site general manager Lisa Hancock said: “We’ve always been very proud and passionate about what we do here at Rogerstone and colleagues are now thinking differently following the investment, constantly looking at how we can improve the quality and consistency of our products for the benefit of our customers.”

“The new extension has been great news for the site on many levels, and this will allow us to build on our recipe for success.”
