Tunisian food manufacturer Délice Group has announced plans to invest $6.48m (TND9m) to build a new dairy plant in Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia.
According to the company, the proposed plant will cover ten hectares in the Lassoueda industrial area and will have a production capacity of 400,000l per day .
The initiative comes in response to the call of milk producers in the Sidi Bouzid region, which ranks second in terms of the country's national milk production with over 92,000l in 2010.
Milk producers in the region are expected to invest $21m (TND28.5m) to increase dairy production.
The new facility is expected to be fully operational in 2013.
