Deals this week: Grazer Labs, The J.M. Smucker, Merko Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret

Grazer Labs (formerly Foodworks) has secured $13m in a Series A funding round led by Techstars Ventures and Acre Venture Partners. Certain undisclosed investors also participated in the funding round.

Based in the US, Grazer Labs is an online application platform to buy and sell home-made food.

JM Smucker Company (known as Smucker and Smucker’s) plans to raise $500m in a public offering of notes.

Based in the US, JM Smucker is engaged in the manufacture of fruit spreads, ice cream toppings, beverages, shortening, peanut butter, and other products.

The company proposes to pay interest on the notes semi-annually, on 15 June and 15 December, at a rate of 3.375% a year.

The company has engaged Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith, JP Morgan Securities, BMO Capital Markets, and PNC Capital Markets as joint book-running managers for the transaction.

Fifth Third Securities, Wells Fargo Securities, US Bancorp Investments, The Huntington Investment Company, and Loop Capital Markets were engaged as co-managers for the offering, while Calfee, Halter and Griswold were engaged as legal counsellors.

Merko Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (Merko) has agreed to raise TRY45m ($11.49m) in a private placement of shares.

Based in Turkey, Merko is engaged in a tomato processing business.

Performance Food Group has announced the sale of 6,272,914 common shares in an underwritten secondary offering.

Wellspring Capital Management, the selling shareholder of Performance Food Group, will conduct the sale through its affiliate. The company will receive the entire proceeds raised from the offering.

Based in the US, Performance Food Group is engaged in food service distribution.

The company has engaged Barclays Capital as the sole underwriter for the transaction.

Cauli Rice (UK) (also known as Fullgreen) has raised £0.5m ($0.67m) in an equity crowdfunding round led by Crowdcube Capital.

Cauli Rice is engaged in the production and marketing of cauliflower rice in a variety of flavours, while Crowdcube Capital specialises in equity crowdfunding platform.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the UK.
