Barry Callebaut, a global chocolate and cocoa products manufacturer, has completed the acquisition of the ingredients division of Gertrude Hawk Chocolates in the US.

The company noted that the integration process will begin as of now.

Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed by both the companies.

Gertrude Hawk Ingredients is reported to be the largest division of Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, which is involved in the creation of new technology and processes to make ice cream and baking products.

With the completion of this deal, Barry Callebaut intends to strategically expand Specialties and Decorations business, especially in North America.

The acquisition will also enable the chocolate product manufacturer to expand its portfolio with new technologies for shell moulding, panning and enrobing, as well as solutions for shaped inclusions and peanut butter chips.
