Dietary Fibre

Dietary fibre refers to the indigestible carbohydrates found in fruit, vegetables, grain and nuts. Dietary fibre is not found in meats or dairy products. Soluble dietary fibre plays a role in lowering blood cholesterol and regulation of blood sugar levels. Insoluble dietary fibre assists in maintaining optimal bowel movements, reducing the risk of colon cancer, haemorrhoids and diabetes. Dietary fibre contains no calories and is not absorbed by the body.
