Term: Agglomeration

Definition:

Agglomeration is the process of bulking up a substance in which finer particles adhere to each other to form a larger mass. The agglomeration process is used to improve powder properties such as flowability, density and homogeneity. Agglomeration is often achieved by wetting (causing partial dissolution) and subsequent drying (creating solid bonds between particles) of powder substances.
