Tetra Pak has introduced a new homogeniser, Tetra Alex 350, for beverage and dairy products. This machine is based on the same concept as the Tetra Alex 400 machine introduced a few years ago.
The new Tetra Alex 350 will slot into the portfolio as the second largest, with only the Tetra Alex 400 having a higher capacity. Tetra Alex 350 will handle production capacities up to 34,700l/h at 160 bar, a common range for pasteurisers within the beverage and dairy categories. At the 400 bar level, the maximum capacity is 14,000l/h. The machine can also be employed as a high-pressure pump for various food products.
Setting the Standard
Tetra Pak continues to set the standard in the design and construction of homogenisers. The new Tetra Alex 350 is a 5-piston positive displacement pump using a solid pump block. To further improve hygiene conditions, the wet end area has been further refined and now only contains the components directly related to the product. Tetra Alex 350 is equipped with the energy-efficient HD100 homogenisation device. This device now comprises fully reversible seats and forcers, which further improve operational economy.
Meet the Needs
The trend towards using more additives in products also puts higher demands on the equipment, as these additives are often abrasive. Components exposed to wear and tear such as pistons, valves and homogenisation devices can therefore be supplied in different materials and designs to better withstand the effects of such products. Besides being available for the new Tetra Alex 350, this flexibility is also an option for the other Tetra Alex machines in the portfolio. Regarding automation levels, the Tetra Alex machines can be equipped with various functions to meet specific needs.
World Premiere
The Tetra Alex 350 homogeniser was presented for the first time at the Drinktec exhibition. Later this autumn it will move on to the Chicago World Wide Food Expo 26-29 October.
