Meat cutting equipment

Bandsaws remove up to 20g of prime product to process a single sheep carcass; debris contaminates the cut area, reducing shelf life and detracting from the product appearance, while blade speed heats the meat and alters the flavour.

The round knife is not a saw but a true knife, cutting tissue and bone cleanly, quickly and coldly. Compared with the bandsaw, the round knife cuts cleanly because it produces no debris. It is fast because of advanced cutting technology and cold because of the slow knife rotation speed. Round knife technology provides the opportunity to realise the maximum value for processed meat products.

Conveyancing systems for the food processing industry

The development of conveyancing technologies has markedly increased productivity in the product handling sector. Smart conveyancing system design reduces labour input, minimises operator fatigue, reduces repetitive strain injury and promotes a healthier and safer workplace environment. SES has extensive experience in delivering conveyancing solutions to production-intensive industries.

Short-run box making machine

An SES client required a machine that could quickly and easily be set up to cut and crease a customised box. It needed to operate on common thickness of card, be reliable and require very little maintenance. From this concept the team designed and built the computerised short-run box making machine. The machine is a self-contained unit, suitable for runs of one to several thousand cartons.

The unit cuts and creases pre-cut carton blanks, ready for folding and gluing, stapling or taping. The box maker is very quick to set up and quick to crease and cut. Because of the ease of setup (mere seconds), the box maker can be used for one-off custom carton production, through to the perfecting of cartons for large production runs.

The all-electric box maker has advanced electronics for high accuracy and accurate repeatability. The machine is manufactured from high-quality materials for longevity, including THK liner bearing rail, D2 tooling, SEW servo drives and heavy duty castor wheels.

Full boning room design
