Optical size and quality grader for potatoes and carrots

Newtec’s Celox RV12 is a stainless-steel optical grader that grades potatoes or carrots by quality and size. The infeed section consists of 12 vibrating channel feeders, ensuring gentle and efficient separation of the produce. All potatoes / carrots are rotated through the unit, while one of three cameras photographs each one up to 40 times.

The information obtained determines the exact length, diameter and surface condition of the potato or carrot. The data captured is then evaluated by a high-speed computer, which decides how the vegetable will be graded – all in accordance with the chosen parameters entered into the touch-screen interface.

Output capacity is up to 20t/hr for potatoes and between 10t/hr and 12t/hr for carrots, depending on product size and weight.
