Stainless Valve Co. (SVC) is a specialty valve manufacturer that engineers valve products for specific applications where standard valves do not perform. Other valves can cause high maintenance costs, or fail after a short time in service. SVC specialises in the production of sturdy, customised valves, designed to meet the demands of a range of industry applications, including those in the food processing market. SVC also serves the mining, power generation, chemical, petro-chemical, refineries and food industries.

SVC provides a range of valves for various applications, although much of our focus is on the replacement of ball valves. We also manufacture and supply knife gate or wedge gate, and butterfly valves. We produce relatively large sized valves, measuring between 4in and 72in in diameter, and our valves suit applications of 150#, 600# 900# and 1500# service, ANSI, JIS and metric. We produce the following valves, although manually operated versions are also available.

SVC manufactures products in 300 series stainless steels, the range includes duplex stainless steels, Hastelloy, Inconel, titanium, carbon steel, and any other material available in a plate form.

STARGATE O-PORT SAFE SEALING VALVES

SVC Stargate O-Port valves are designed to suit a variety of applications where standard valves fail to meet specific requirements. Stargate-O-Port valves are used as isolation valves on mixing pumps, filling valves on reactors, catalyst recycling reactors and reactor outlet valves, avoiding many operational problems associated with standard valves (such as high costs).

The design advantages of Stargate O-Port valves make them best suited to applications where solid matter can be trapped in the seat area or the bottom of the valve, the process fluid is abrasive or corrosive, and where the process material can adhere to valve parts.

Since valves are designed so that the blade passes through the valve body at both ends, no material can become trapped between the blade and seat, meaning that the valve always seats and seals well. Stargate-O-Port valves offer safe sealing and a long service life, which lowers maintenance and replacement expenses.

STARGATE O-PORT AS ANTI-SCALE VALVES

SVC has produced a solution to the problem of scaling. When scale is formed on the moving elements of ball valves or gate valves, it often results in blocking of the valve movement or other forms of damage.

The Stargate o-Port AS valve is available in several sizes, to suit a range of applications. These are as follows,

• 8in 150# Stargate O-Port valve – a heavy-duty valve designed for abrasive, corrosive slurry applications in food processing.
• 10in 300# Stargate O-Port AS valve – an anti-scale valve for severe scale forming, sticky, and hardening materials applications.
• 24in 150# Stargate O-Port valve – a heavy duty large valve for severe service applications. Designed to be corrosion and abrasion resistant in the harsher food processing applications.

The Stargate O-Port AS valve has eliminated scaling issues in valve applications since its development in 1995.

VALVE COATINGS AND SEATS

The design of the AS-Stargate O-Port valve is the combination of coatings and seats in order to eliminate the negative aspects of scale formation or sticky flow media. SVC recommends the best coating to be used for low temperature applications to be the high-build, as this solution creates a barrier between the blade and the flow media. A nickel-based coating is often used for high temperature applications, again the desired property is a low coefficient of friction between the coating and the flow media.

The Stargate O-Port AS valve has been used in a variety of applications. The valve is best suited for those applications where process materials adhere to valve parts, harden under pressure, or demonstrate the tendency to form scale deposits that will prevent standard valves from actuating.
