Habasit Announces Tight Radius Belt for Limited Space

Habasit, the world's leading lightweight conveyor belt manufacturer, has developed a new HabasitLINK plastic modular belt.
The new M2543 Tight Radius 1” is a side-flexing belt with a small collapse factor of 1.6 that allows extremely tight turns and requires 30% less space than common belts with a collapse factor of 2.2. It is ideally suited for spiral conveyors, also in freezers with temperatures down to -40°C. The patented T-shape design of the cross ribs guarantees a high lateral stiffness providing solid stability around curves which makes the M2543 a unique tight-turning modular belt.
With an open area of 35% and an open contact area of 57% (largest opening: 7.5mm x 10mm), the belt provides sufficient passage for cooling air and draining. At the same time, the large and uniquely completely smooth contact surface offers ideal conditions for avoiding imprints even on soft products. Contoured module design and this special surface allow for easy removal of debris and residues, which results in reduced cleaning time.
Given these properties, M2543 Tight Radius 1in can ideally be applied when space is limited like in food facilities, such as bakery, fish, meat, poultry, dairy, fruit and vegetable plants, as well as in materials handling.
M2543 Tight Radius 1in is available in the FDA-approved materials Polypropylene and Polyacetal. It is driven by universal 1in sprockets which are also suitable for 11 other belt types which simplifies the maintenance complexity a lot.
