Mondi Foods - IQF Fruits, Fruit Purees and Fruit Concentrates

Mondi Foods began more than 40 years ago as a pioneer in fruit trading, and is now one of the largest industrial processors of red fruit in Europe. Mondi Foods specialises in the production of red fruit, grown and harvested in Europe. The main product categories (available all year round in various types of packaging) are:

• IQF whole and sliced / diced fruits
• Fruit puree / pulp, either frozen, in aseptic packaging, fresh or preserved in SO2
• Fruit juice concentrates, frozen or in aseptic packaging

We have a full range of fruit products available in our deep freeze stores, from the typical European varieties (strawberries, raspberries, apples, etc.) to tropical fruits (mango, passion fruit, pineapple, etc.).

INDIVIDUALLY QUICK FROZEN (IQF) FRUITS

Mondi Foods offers a very extensive range of IQF (Individually Quick Frozen), graded or ungraded, fruit halves, sliced or diced frozen fruits. We use the latest processing technology such as belt and tunnel freezing. The method chosen depends on the natural characteristics of each fruit and the customer's end-use.

All fruits frozen by Mondi Foods are carefully selected and picked at source during the harvest. After being washed and having any stems or pips removed, the fresh fruit is immediately frozen to preserve its quality and appearance. The latest techniques are used such as laser sorting to meet customer requirements.

FRUIT PUREES – FROZEN, ASEPTIC, CHILLED OR PRESERVED

Mondi Foods fruit purees are known for their high quality. We select the best fruit varieties fresh from the field for immediate processing in our facilities. The fruits are processed using the desired sieve dimensions, according to the type of fruit and the customer requirements. Our modern facilities enable us to prepare tailor-made puree mixes at a very competitive quality / price ratio in line with customer specifications.

CONCENTRATED FRUIT PUREES

In addition to single strength fruit purees, our range also includes concentrated fruit purees. The concentrated fruit puree is produced from puree by extracting water through evaporation in a vacuum system without enzymatic treatment. Thanks to short pasteurisation the typical fruit characteristics (colour and flavour) are maintained.

Concentrated fruit purees have significant advantages such as:

• Less volume needed for higher fruit content in the fruit application
• More efficient transport and storage
• They reduce handling and energy-cost in your production process
• They reduce packaging and environmental cost

The concentrated fruit purees are aseptically packed in drums and cartons.

FRUIT JUICE CONCENTRATES

Mondi Foods fruit juice concentrates are produced to very high standards. Depending on the raw material quality, the fruit juice is obtained by pressing or decanting. In many cases enzymes are used to obtain the optimum production yield and quality. All enzymes are guaranteed to be free of GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms).

After concentration of the single strength juice, the natural aroma is reincorporated in the juice concentrate or supplied separately, as required. Using state-of-the-art techniques and equipment, top quality 100% natural juice is obtained.

In addition to typical European fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and cherry we can also supply tropical and citrus fruits. Our quality and development team will investigate any fruit mixes you desire for your application.

ORGANIC FRUIT PRODUCTS

Since 1995 Mondi Foods has invested in the organic growing of fruits in Serbia and Montenegro, Romania and Poland. Our local agronomists inspect the fields, in close contact with the growers in order to achieve the best quality of organic fruits as raw material for your products. All projects are controlled by Ecocert International, according to EU legislation. Mondi Foods organic certification certificate is available on request.

QUALITY WITHIN MONDI FOODS

Mondi has total quality control from A-to-Z, with traceability right from harvesting of the raw materials through to final delivery of our product to the customer. All our plants have integrated HACCP and are BRC certified.
