Since its formation in the year 2000 Allied Biotech Corporation has solidly established its name as one of the world's leading manufacturers of carotenoids, which are marketed under the brand name Altratene®. CAROTENOID FORMULATIONS FOR EVERY NEED

By nature, carotenoids in pure crystal form are sensitive to air, light and heat, as well as insoluble in water and only slightly soluble in oil. In order to be a successful carotenoid supplier, it is therefore critical to convert the crystals into stable, high-quality formulations, which are suitable for the vast amount of food applications on the market.

BETA-CAROTENE FORMULATIONS

Allied Biotech offers a complete portfolio of beta-carotene formulations, which includes oil suspensions, emulsions and powders.

Oily suspensions are primarily used in products such as margarine, salad dressing, popcorn, and soft gel capsules.

Cold water dispersible powders are used in dairy products, soft drinks, bakery products, custards, instant beverages and nutritional powders. Most recently, Allied has launched a 10% starch-based powder, and is the only company in the market to offer a 5% powder, which is a cost-effective alternative to the lower potency powders on the market.

Beta-carotene emulsions are primarily used in beverages, but also in other water-based applications. Through innovative formulation technologies Allied has introduced Altratene 2% FT-NR and Altratene 3% FT-NR, which are non-ringing emulsions tailored for the beverage segment.

β-APO-8'-CAROTENAL FORMULATIONS

This group of formulations provides orange-red colours to a variety of food products on the market. Allied offers β-Apo-8'-carotenal as oily suspensions or solution; formulations which make it possible for food manufacturers to colour products like cheese, margarine, salad dressings, soup, sauce, dairy products, sweets and pastries.
