Tanis Food Tec Trains Iraqi Engineers

As Iraq is in a position to rebuild its future, the country's biscuit manufacturers are in a position to challenge themselves now too: Turkish producers have access to their market and are trying to establish their brand. Tanis Food Tec was asked to deliver two complete production lines to a major Iraqi bakery: one for biscuit sandwiches with marshmallow, pectine jelly and biscuit cream fillings, the other a layer cake and cake bar line. However, sending Tanis engineers to Baghdad to install the machines and instruct the customer’s people posed a moral dilemma.
Therefore a group of technicians of the customer has come over to Holland in order to receive an extensive training in order to learn how to assemble the machinery themselves. In the Tanis Food Tec factory in Lelystad both turnkey operations were erected and made to run at real production capacities, so the Iraqi engineers could test run their final product. They received help with production methods, recipe adjustments and the total project engineering. After extensive production runs the Iraqi engineers helped disassemble the lines so they will have no problems with putting them back together again at arrival in their own factory in Iraq.
The biscuit sandwiching line consists of a marsmallow, pectine jelly and biscuit cream kitchen combined with a high speed sandwiching machine. The second line for production of layer cakes and cake bars consisting of all equipment necessary between ingredient silo’s and wrapping machines: cake premixing, aeration and sheeting, cake cutting, cream mixing and aeration and depositing, layering, guillotine cutting. Even the continuous cake oven was fully assembled and all functions were tested in Lelystad.
More and more customers want help with complete project solutions. Single machines are important, but the final product is what the end user is looking for. Tanis Food Tec understands this and has recently put a complete test facility together at their Lelystad location, where development work can be done on specific recipes and production methods.
This definite adds value for their customers. Even when located in Iraq!
