The company Jago is a leading distributor of frozen foods and ice cream on the Polish market. Problems with ice and frost used to significantly hinder operations within their coldstore, which has an area of several thousand square metres.

Continual inflow of warm air from the loading and unloading dock into the coldstore caused ice and frost to penetrate into the coldstore. This inflow led to ice forming near the entrances to the coldstore and by the air inlet to the cooling system. As a result, those areas needed to be regularly defrosted, and the coolers were less effective.

According to Jago's Operations Director, Sylwester Wojtaczka, the icy floor was a source of great concern. "It was very dangerous for people, and forklifts were slipping and bumping into 10m high shelf-units, often causing damage. It was also hard to move the wheeled shelf-units."

In this situation, Jago found the perfect solution with Munters IceDry® dehumidification system. The system addresses the causes of icing, and dehumidifies the air.

The successful results were visible after only a few days. "The ice and frost were disappearing from the coldstore, as were our problems," remembers Sylwester Wojtaczka. Now, Jago enjoys a dry and safe coldstore, and the quality of its services has subsequently improved significantly. A coldstore which is free from ice and frost also leads to measurable financial benefits.
