Delarvas - Refrigerator and Freezer Remanufacturing and Installation

Delarvas specializes in assisting clients in acquiring the freezers or refrigeration equipment they need, and in divesting of surplus equipment and properties. In many cases Delarvas acquires the equipment from entire plants.

Plants and equipment may be new, new surplus, low-hour used, used, rebuilt or refurbished. Delarvas coordinates the overall valuation, engineering, dismantling, refurbishing, shipping and civil works at the job site, such as selecting contractors and subcontractors, supervising ongoing construction, installation and startup. In some cases Delarvas contracts experienced professionals to run the new operations, training local professionals to take over the ongoing operations of the plant over time.

Delarvas contracts with qualified firms in the USA and Latin America as needed to manage the different phases of any given freezer or refrigerator project. Delarvas has extensive project experience in Latin America.

NEW, USED OR RECONSTRUCTED REFRIGERATION EQUIPMENT

Delarvas buys an extensive amount of new, used or remanufactured refrigeration equipment. Delarvas has exporter, dealer and OEM agreements with Vilter, Fes, Stellar, York International, Carrier, Mycom and Morris, to name but a few. Delarvas further specializes in remanufacturing and rebuilding AMERIO automatic contact plate freezers, NORTHSTAR flake ice makers, and ROSS impingement freezers.

AMERIO PLATE FREEZER REMANUFACTURING

Delarvas' AMERIO automatic plate freezer sales program is designed to successfully remanufacture all products before sale. The AMERIO freezers are completely disassembled: the frame is repaired for any flaws; sandblasted and then either hot-dipped, galvanized or painted with a primer, and covered with steelit stainless steel paint. All the hydraulic rams are sent out to replace the seals and make any other repairs, to bring them up to 95% of AMERIO's new specifications.

All the plates are flushed, repaired for any flaws, pressurized and then sealed for shipment. All hoses are replaced with stainless reinforced hoses (unless the buyer specifically requests rubber hoses). All manifold suction and discharge fittings are replaced with new stainless fittings to facilitate installation.

The hydraulic-pump package and related hydraulic hoses are checked to ensure functioning up to full AMERIO specifications: if necessary, this includes rebuilding the pump and motor (or replacing them with new models) and replacing all hydraulic hoses with new.

NEW FREEZER ENCLOSURES

Delarvas recommends installing a new enclosure with the front reinforced wall being flush with the AMERIO frame / in-feed. This leaves 3ft clearance on each side and 5ft clearance from the discharge conveyor to the back wall (similar to a spiral freezer), to be able to clean and service the freezer.

Safeties are shipped loose for field installation, so if the door is open or someone is working inside the enclosure, the plate freezer cannot function. If the client wants a standard AMERIO, an evaporator must be installed inside the enclosure to minimize condensation.

FIELD INSTALLATION

To minimize shipping, Delarvas rebuilds all AMERIO freezers as 'knockdown units' to fit into a standard, high-cube or open-top container, or on a flat rack, to be field erected. Once erected, Delarvas field technicians install all electrical connections, the microprocessor is upgraded to the Allen Bradley SLC 5/02 (or a newer version, if the buyer specifies), and limiting micro-switches are installed.

Hydraulics, hoses and plates are also installed, before the Delarvas technicians pressure test each plate to ensure no damage or leaks occurred in shipping or handling. Once the refrigeration and electrical contractors have finished plumbing the refrigeration and electrical, Delarvas field technicians test run the AMERIO, coordinating the software program to the product application.

When the AMERIO is deemed 'ready to run' and the plant has products available to begin production, Delarvas contracts Mr. Glenn Niederworfer – formerly of APV CREPACO – to check all Delarvas field installations. This dry run is followed by the product being run with both Delarvas technicians and Mr. Niederworfer present, to ensure correct functioning.
